Adopt-a-dog day afternoon in Washington Square Park
On Sat., May 19, the Alliance for New York City’s Animals will host the third annual Adopt-a-Palooza in Washington Square Park. The event gives animal lovers the opportunity to adopt on the spot more than 100 fully immunized and spayed/neutered, furry friends of various breeds and ages.
Why are people turned away when trying to adopt a dog?
There's a bit of a controversy brewing between the Amarillo SPCA and a local couple over whether or not they're capable of taking care of an adopted pet.
Shelton beautification is underway and help is needed. A small team of volunteers is creating a zinnia garden near the Dog Park, under the city's "Adopt a Garden" program. The plot measures 75x20 and is at the corner of Nells Rock and Route 108.
